You walked down the pavement, ignoring the people who were around you. You were going out to meet Dan and Phil for the first time. You had spoken to them many times over Skype. You would consider the two of them great friends, but you had never met them in person. Now that you had moved to London, you all planned to meet up. 

You felt butterflies in your stomach. You weren't sure why you were so nervous. You knew that they were going to be nice. You had known them for a long time, so it should be like seeing an old friend. You guess that it was meeting them in first time in real life was nervous, no matter how you looked at it. You sighed, continuing to walk. Your stomach was a mess with excitement and nervousness. You could feel yourself shaking. 

As you continued to walk, you stepped on your shoelace that had become untied. You felt yourself fall forward and you let out a loud squeak. This was not what you needed right now. You knew you were clumsy but you didn't want to see the guys for the first time hurt. You felt yourself hit something , but it wasn't the ground. You were still standing up, just being held by someone. 

You looked up shyly to seeing a smiling Dan standing there. He had his arms wrapped around your back. Your cheeks quickly turned a bright red as you realized he had caught you. This was definitely not what you expected to happen when you first saw Dan. He helped you stand up, brushing off your shoulders. You could see Phil standing behind him a few feet. Dan must have run over to help you.

"Hey, how are you, my darling today?" He said, smiling. This was how he normally greeted you online when the two of you talked. Phil walked over and greeted you as well. They two of you began to talk as you walked to where you were going out to lunch.

That was when you realized that you felt something for Dan. You weren't sure if you would call it full blown love yet. It was more like puppy love. The kind of love that makes your heart skip a beat whenever you are with that person. You weren't sure how you were going to deal with it. 

We’re as different as can be
I’ve noticed you’re remarkably relaxed
And I’m overly uptight
We balance out each other nicely 

You wear sandals in the snow
In mid-July I still feel cold

But I can’t resist it when you say

Months passed and the three of you got closer. You still couldn't tell how Dan felt about you. He was such a nice guy that when he did anything that might be romantic, you would just say he did it because he was nice. Phil could tell the two of you liked each other but he kept his mouth shut when both of you were around. He kept trying to get Dan to tell you but he didn't.

At the moment you and Phil were sitting on the couch, watching Anime. Dan had to do a video so he was upstairs. You shivered, pulling your sweater closer to you. You were cold, while the others were nice and warm. That was because you were always cold and  they knew that. Dan always tried to get you a blanket or something when you were over so you would be warm. He was such a nice guy.

You zoned out while watching anime, starting to think about you and Dan. You both were such opposites yet you still felt such a strong feeling of love when you were around him. It didn't seem to matter that the two of you were so different from each other. You had some similarities in what you liked, so that was good. Plus people said that opposites attract. Maybe that would work in your favor. 

You heard footsteps and saw Dan walking in. He smiled toward you and sat down beside you. He must have finished his video. He set his arms on the couch behind you, so it was almost like he had his arm wrapped around you. You were used to this gesture. He did it a lot. It was his invitation, telling you could lean on him. If he wasn't sitting like that, he wouldn't want you to lean on him. He might have had a bad day or didn't feel good.

You leaned on him, watching the anime. Phil wondered if he should leave so he went to go get some tea. He was hoping that if he wasn't in the room that something would happen. That Dan would finally make an official move. That never happened though. Phil always would chide Dan later, though he could understand why Dan didn't do anything. He didn't want to ruin a friendship. 

"Hello, how are you, my darling today?" He said, looking down at you with a smile. The two of you began to talk, pausing the anime. Nothing happened that day though, to Phil's disappointment. 

Finding words, I mutter
Tongue-tied, twisted
Foot in mouth, I start to stutter
Ha, ha, Heaven help me

You took a deep breath as you walked up the stairs to Dan and Phil's shared apartment. You were going to do something today. You would make the first move even though you were so nervous. You felt your heart pounding as you continued to walk up the stairs. What if he said no? What he shot you down? That was the worst thing that could happen. It could ruin your friendship with him. But if you didn't do anything, wouldn't that be bad too? You would never know if he liked you or not. 

You knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. You could feel the nervousness in your stomach build up as you waited. The door opened up and Dan was standing there. When he saw you and smiled and began to say something but you cut him off before he was able to.

"Hello, how are you, my darling today?" You said, copying what he always said to you, "I was wondering if you wanted to go out and get some coffee with me. Just you and me, not Phil." You were squirming. You hoped you didn't look too awkward. You were trying to be confident but that wasn't you and Dan knew that. He loved how awkward you were. It was just one of your cute quirks.

"Right now? Okay. Let me just go grab my jacket." He said, smiling before turning around. You couldn't believe that had worked. You were really going out for coffee with him. You internally squealed. Dan told Phil where he was going, causing the older Brit to smile. He was surprised that you had made the first move. He was glad, you two would make a good pair.
